It's a crime to miss this opportunity

The City of Maroondah is playing host to some of Australia's great true crime and fictional crime authors in October for the Maroondah Writers' and Readers' Festival.

Check out the Festival program. Here's a quick peek at some of the lineup (pun slightly intended):

Shane Maloney
Shane Maloney is one of Australia's foremost crime writers. He's a past winner of the Ned Kelly Award for Crime Fiction and is best know for the Murray Whelan series.

John Silvester
John Silvester is both a Walkley Award and Ned Kelly Award winner and co-author of the incredibly popular Underbelly series, from which the recent TV series was made.

Adrian Puckering
A tour guide for the Jack the Ripper Walks, historian Adrian Puckering will be taking us on a journey through the life and crimes of Jack the Ripper. Quiz him about the latest allegations of Jack's identity.

Dale Campisi
For the budding authors out there, Dale will be covering subjects such as manuscript presentation and submission and be giving an overview of the publishing and magazine scene.
