New online resources

We've just got access to some new online resources at the library available at our Online Resources page.

TumbleBook Library

TumbleBooks are narrated & animated online books. There are also puzzles and games. This is a great resource for kids.

Storybooks - for preschoolers and kids who have just started school.

Tumblereadables - large print 'Read-On-Your-Own' story, chapter and Young Adult books.

Life Learning - books which teach kids about important social and health issues.

Language learning - books in French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese.

Visual Thesaurus

Visual Thesaurus is a thesaurus that displays the results using a visual map. It does require a Java plugin (download Java from Sun). The following is an image of the results for a search for pen.

WebsterWorld

WebsterWorld is a general student encyclopedia with articles for Arts, History and Australia among others.

So if you haven't had a look at the Online Resources, check them out. They are available 24/7 from home and all you need is your library card.

Cheers, Maryanne
